Altcast Commentate any match live, from your phone, in your own language.
An altcast is a match called by a fan instead of a broadcaster. You watch the game you were going to watch anyway, and other fans listen to you call it. Nobody hands out the microphone: you pick the match and go on air.

How an altcast works
- Pick the match
- Any fixture on the board, in any of the sports WeSpeakSports follows. Nobody has to have booked it first, and you need no accreditation.
- Open the app and talk
- The app is the booth: it records you and puts you on air. No mixer, no desk, no second machine. Your phone and your voice are the kit.
- Fans find you on the match
- Your name appears on that fixture and on the boards of both clubs, next to the other fans commentating it, in the language you speak.
- Keep the ones who stay
- Call the same club week after week and the regulars become yours. That audience is the thing worth building; it is also what any sponsorship would eventually be sold against.
What a sponsored altcast could pay
Not running yet. This is the plan, not an offer: no fan has been paid for an altcast.
- Ads heard in one match
- 20,000
- That match would pay
- $120.00
- A month of 8 matches
- $960.00
figures you type, not figures we pay
The arithmetic is the standard one: an advertiser pays a rate per thousand ads heard, and the commentator takes a share of it. What that rate and that share turn out to be is not settled, and neither is the date. Nothing on this page is a commitment to pay.
What you get today
- Your own schedule
- One match a season or four a week. Nothing is assigned to you and nothing expires.
- Your own language
- Most matches are called in one or two languages. Yours is often the only one covering a club, which is exactly how fans find you.
- A page that keeps your name
- Every match you call is listed on your commentator page and on the clubs’ boards, and it stays there.
- No kit to buy
- A phone, headphones if you have them, and somewhere to watch the match. That is the whole setup.
